Mission & Vision

Vision Statement:

The PICU Data Collaborative (PDC) will promote the discovery and application of knowledge to improve the diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of critically ill children by developing a rich, curated, standardized, multicenter data source to empower data science in pediatric critical care.

Mission Statement:

The PDC will host a one-of-a-kind data platform that facilitates high-impact discoveries and the development of real-time data-driven systems, algorithms, and clinical decision support tools that will directly impact the care of critically ill children. The platform will enable seamless data harmonization and data quality checks and provide ready access to data science workspaces and artificial intelligence workflows.

The PDC will organize meetings for researchers and clinicians to discuss new and exciting problems, present research results, share implementation success stories, and discuss solutions to common obstacles. The PDC will establish an inclusive community of researchers with diverse backgrounds, expertise, and interests, with the common goal of improving the outcomes for all critically ill children, now and in the future.

The PDC has a special interest in developing junior investigators of all backgrounds into future leaders in the field of pediatric critical care data science.
